Knoxville, Tennessee, resident Peter Culpepper, a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Maryland and Tennessee has more than two decades of experience as a financial executive, accountant, and consultant. Laying the groundwork for a successful career in business, Mr. Culpepper began his academic journey at the United States’ second oldest institution of learning, The College of William & Mary. Majoring in philosophy at the Williamsburg, Virginia, school, Peter Culpepper earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1982. After graduation, he enrolled in Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) to acquire an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting, completing that course of study in 1985.
With a desire to advance his education, Peter Culpepper attended the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, in College Park, Maryland. Here, he earned a Master of Business Administration in 1992 with a focus in Finance. For the next couple of years, Peter Culpepper honed his auditing skills with Laventhol & Horwath and Ross, Langan & McKendree, LLP. In 1993, he was hired as a Division Controller and later Director of National Accounting for Paging Network Inc. (PageNet), an entrepreneurial company that grew to become the world’s largest wireless messaging provider in the 1990s. During this time, Peter Culpepper enrolled at The University of Texas at Dallas to study information technology. He remained with PageNet until 1998, providing oversight of more than 100 employees and $100 million in profit and loss reporting.
In 1998, Peter Culpepper left PageNet to join an affiliate of Metromedia Companies. Starting in senior level positions, Mr. Culpepper served the telecommunications company as Metromedia International Group, Inc.’s Finance Director in Austria and later as Assistant Corporate Controller in the United States. Peter Culpepper then accepted Metromedia Fiber Network Inc.’s Network Controller position. In 2000, he was named Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for Neptec Optical Solutions, Inc., a fiber-optic component manufacturer.
Leaving Neptec in 2001, Peter Culpepper became a Management Consultant with Felix Culpepper International, Inc., advising corporations in all phases, from start-ups to high-growth companies. During this time, he operated on Gerson Lehrman Group, Inc.’s Accounting Council and as a registered representative of AXA Advisors, LLC. In 2004, Peter Culpepper was named as a corporate officer for Provectus Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. Today, he operates as CFO and COO for the Knoxville, Tennessee-based entrepreneurial biopharmaceutical company.
